Moonshine Post is once again partnering with the Atlanta Film Festival (ATLFF) to host an invite‑only BIG TENT post‑production meetup on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at the Plaza Theatre. This year, it’s extra special: the night will also serve as the official launch event for the new Post Atlanta Conference, a two‑day, post‑pro‑led conference coming to Atlanta this September 26–27, 2026.
This isn’t a vendor expo or guru summit, it’s a conference built by post professionals for post professionals, focused on real‑world disruption, craft, and career. Expect 2 days, 50+ post experts, and 20+ panels digging into the work we actually do and the changes reshaping our industry.

Georgia’s industry-leading
film tax incentive
Georgia’s film tax incentive program has long made the state a national production powerhouse — and now there’s a major update that benefits post-production houses, editors, VFX facilities and anyone who works on finishing projects in the state.
What’s New (Starting Jan 1, 2026)
As of January 1, 2026, the state has reinstated a stand-alone Post-Production Tax Credit for film, television, and commercial work. HB 129
-
Post-production companies that spend at least $500,000 on qualified in-state expenditures become eligible for a 20% transferable tax credit.
-
If the project was shot in Georgia, there’s an additional 10% uplift.
-
There’s also a 5% bonus for post-production completed in a designated rural county — giving an extra incentive for spreading post work across Georgia.
-
The credit applies to footage shot in or out of Georgia — as long as the post work happens here.
This means that studios, post houses, and freelancers handling finishing work — editing, color correction, VFX, sound, etc. — stand to significantly benefit.
What Remains from the Original Program
Georgia’s original production incentive still exists for feature films, series, pilots, commercials, music videos, and more.
-
The standard credit is 20% base, with an additional 10% Georgia Entertainment Promotion (GEP) credit — often totaling up to 30% for qualified productions that meet the logo/marketing requirement.
-
Qualified expenditures include pre-production, production, and post-production costs when certified by the state, as usual.
Why This Matters for Editors, Creators & Post Houses
-
Post-only shops — especially editing, VFX, sound, color, motion graphics — now have a strong financial incentive to do final work in Georgia, regardless of where principal photography was shot.
-
Smaller budgets & commercials — with the reinstated post-credit, even boutique spots and independent content creators may benefit if their total qualified spend hits the $500K threshold.
-
Increased demand — as producers realize they can finish post in Georgia and qualify for credits, demand for local post houses and editors is likely to grow.
-
Rural work boost — with the added incentive for rural-county post work, there’s renewed opportunity for post-production across more regions, not just metro hubs.
